Instructors inspire crowds at ARTsMART

Jan n DaveOn Saturday, October 17, 2009, the Mt Shasta Mall was jam packed with artists demonstrating their skills during the first annual ARTsMART, organized by the Shasta County Arts Council.

"I expected to come see an art show, but I didn't expect all of this! How great!" was heard from one patron as they watched Jan and Dave Baza's Hula and Angelfire Studio's Phenomenal Abdominal dancers perform near the JC Penney's wing of the expansive mall. One mall associate comments that the mall has never been this full on a Saturday, good news in this ailing economy. Almost every artist sold something during the show, and patrons had their hands full with purchases from mall stores as well.

At 745pm, just as the mall begins to wind down for the day another ARTAZINE instructor, Micah Ree owner of Angelfire Studios puts on a fire dance show to a huge crowd, in the front of the Mall.  She graciously accepts compliments, and again, overheard from all around, "That was awesome!".  A great finale to a full day of the ARTs.

Great job guys!!!  You are amazing!
