poemcrazy: freeing your life with words

poemcrazy: freeing your life with words

A talk/workshop with Susan Wooldridge
Saturday, March 13, 2010
10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Presented by the Writer's Forum

Memorial Hall of All Saints Episcopal Church
2150 Benton Drive
Redding, CA 96003
The church is located at the corner of Benton Drive and Quartz Hill Road.

Bring scratch paper, pens and a few books of poems.

Susan will talk about her journals and her own writing process. Then we'll create a group wordpool, and begin to write about who we are, where we come from and where we're going. In a safe, free setting, poems or prose snippets will emerge that surprise and delight us. Sharing work is optional.

Susan teaches creativity and writing workshops throughout the U.S. This is the seventh year of her series of Northern California rural library workshops sponsored by Poets and Writers Organization and the California Center for the Book.  Susan’s book, poemcrazy:  freeing your life with words (Three Rivers, Random House), is in a twenty-first printing.

Anne Lamott wrote, "This is a wonderful book smart, wide-eyed, joyful, helpful, inspiring.  You're going to love it, and love writing poetry more for having read it.  Susan's more recent book Foolsgold:  Making Something from Nothing (and Freeing Your Creative Process), published by Harmony ( Random House) was both a Quality Paperback Book Club and a One Spirit Book Club selection. Rachel Naomi Remen wrote that "it's a book that may save your life."  Susan's chapbook of poems, Bathing with Ants, was published by Bear Star Press. www.susanwooldridge.com
