Siskiyou County Artists – opportunities

Dear Siskiyou County Artists,

We've been working with the Dunsmuir Revitalization Team to help revitalize the downtown area using the Store Front model created by the San Francisco Arts Commission http://siskiyouartscouncil.us1.list-manage.com/track/click?u=d679c5e96370ccb618119e31b&id=077eb14d6f&e=10b8110d08 and have a  rent free location and a couple of store fronts to open the Siskiyou Arts Council Dunsmuir Art Cooperative Gallery. If you are an enthusiastic professional artist interested in showing your work, please attend the meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011, 6:30pm  at the Dunsmuir Visitors' Bureau office, 5915 Dunsmuir Ave.  We will have space for members who will work in the gallery for a low cost and those who just want to show there work will pay a little more.

If you are looking for established artists' cooperatives, The Marble Rim Gallery in Fort Jones and the Mountain Arts Cooperative in the SAC Gallery are both interested in new members who are professional artists and fine arts crafters to join them.

SAC and JEDI are working hard to finalize the Business of Art Workshops Series . We have secured Diane Rapaport “Making Money Making Music—Without Giving Up Your Soul", and Lesa Michael, owner of The Gallery at the Black Bear Building, will offer a workshop on "Framing & Matting - What You Need to Know to Protect and Show Your Masterpieces". We are excited to present these workshops to the visual, literary and performance artists in Siskiyou County with funding from the Creating Public Value grant, a program supported by the sales of the California Arts Council's Art License plates.

Buy a art licence plate and support the Arts in Siskiyou County!
