Art Under the Elms is dedicated to offering a variety of creative, artistic and cultural experiences while providing an enjoyable and successful festival for all .

Art Under the Elms (AUE) began in 1984 as a celebration of the arts in North Central Idaho and has become one of the largest outdoor festivals in the state. AUE is not only the major fundraiser for Continuing Education & Community Events, a not-for-profit department of Community Programs at Lewis-Clark State College; it is also the signature event of the annual, month-long Dogwood Festival of the Lewis-Clark Valley. Proceeds help fund additional CECE’s programs including Kid’s College, Silverthorne Performing Arts Series, Road Scholar, Non-Credit Lifelong Learning & Personal Enrichment Classes and the Dogwood Festival of the Lewis-Clark Valley.

Held on the picturesque campus of Lewis-Clark State College, located in the Banana Belt of North Central Idaho, patrons of Art Under the Elms enjoy an average temperature of 65.8 degrees. We do, however, recommend that you come prepared for Mother Nature’s unpredictable spring weather.

This 3-day artisan fair features the regions finest artists, showcasing their exquisitely created hand-crafted art items to an audience of more than 10,000. Combined with an international food court, family fun, and regional entertainment on two stages, surrounded by a bustling spring valley blanketed with delicate dogwood blossoms, Art Under the Elms is the place to be the last full weekend in April.

The East Lansing Art Festival is recognized as one of the top 100 fine art fairs in the nation featuring 210-230 juried exhibiting fine artists and artisans. This year’s show coincides with the grand opening of the Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum in East Lansing. This world class art museum will attract national attention for the City of East Lansing as a true “City of the Arts” and will help to promote the East Lansing Art Festival to a national audience!

About the East Lansing Art Festival:
Established in 1964, the East Lansing Art Festival (ELAF) is a non-profit community event with a dedicated patronage from the state of Michigan and beyond.

This two-day outdoor celebration of arts and culture is mid-Michigan’s first major art show of the summer season and is recognized as one of the top 100 fine art fairs in the nation. The ELAF features high-caliber juried fine art and fine craft exhibitors in a vibrant artist marketplace.
