Neptune Festival Art & Craft Show, 39th Annual 2012 - Virginia Beach, Virginia

The Neptune Festival Art & Craft Show (September 28-30) is part of a citywide festival at the Virginia Beach oceanfront. Commercial vendors run 1st-17th Streets on the boardwalk and the Art/Craft Show runs 18th-29th Streets on the boardwalk. The Art & Craft Show portion is produced by The Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art. The art/craft show jury fee is $35 and the artist booth fee is only $350 per 10x10 for the entire weekend. Artists and craftsmen in all media are eligible for the art/craft portion of festival, and acceptance is based on a blind jury process. The art/craft section of the festival (18th-29th Streets) does not allow commercial or imported products. In all cases, the spirit of our guidelines intends that the work depend heavily on the “handmade" aspect of art and craft. The Spicewood Arts Society is sponsoring Arts Round-Up 2012, a fine art festival, on October 20-21, 2012 in Spicewood, Texas.

This is the ninth year for the Arts Round-Up and has become a popular show with artists and guests alike. The fine art festival will be held on the grounds of LaCabana Grill on TX Hwy 71. The beautiful oak grove has picnic tables, attractive plantings, a water fountain, a children's play area, a covered outdoor food service area and of course the restaurant itself. Spicewood is a rapidly growing area situated just west of Austin and conveniently central to Johnson City, Marble Falls, Lakeway, and Bee Caves. In addition to its easy access from the very busy Hwy 71, this location is very near to large and growing upscale housing areas.

Central Texas artists working in all 2D and 3D media are encouraged to apply for this very cost effective show. The Westhampton Beach Festival of the Arts will be entering its third year, returning to the Great Lawn of St. Mark’s Church on Main Street in Westhampton Beach. Trendy shops abound on Main Street and celebrities are routinely observed on the streets and in restaurants. Westhampton Beach is easily accessible without experiencing the infamous “Hampton” traffic jams and lodging rates are considerably more reasonable than in the East Hampton area. These are the demographics most sought after by artists.

2010 was a stellar year for the festival, experiencing steady crowds and buying energy past the close of the show. Despite the widespread and powerful effects of Tropical Storm Irene along the Atlantic coast in the days preceding the 2011 show, eastern portions of Long Island rebounded quickly. The show dawned sunny and warm as artists experienced their best year at Westhampton Beach. The show was marked by steady crowds on Saturday and a buying energy the extended past the close of the show. Sales recorded at the event (i.e., average sales of $3765), not including the numerous post-show sales and commissions artists have received, confirm that the Westhampton Beach Festival of the Arts is rising to become one of the top fine art venues on the East Coast.

In the past five years, Hot Works has created grass roots relationships within the Charlotte Metropolitan Area. The event is highly advertised and promoted on print, radio, television, social media, posters and post cards. The Convention Center is surrounded by many cultural things to do including the Mint Museum, the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art, the Harvey B. Gantt Center for African American Arts & Culture, the Levine Museum, Discover Place and the Nascar Museum. There is plenty of parking in the area.

The Institute for the Arts & Education, Inc., is the 501c3 non-profit organization that is part of the event and helps find ways to enrich lives and strengthen the community through the Power of Arts. Many positives link the Charlotte Convention Center to a successful Fine Art & Craft Show.
