Juried Online Colored Pencil Exhibition to be displayed at www.cpsa.org. This exhibition allows artists to explore beyond the limitations of 100% colored pencil on flat surfaces. Works must be predominantly in colored pencil and may incorporate other media, techniques, and surfaces as well as 3-dimensional shapes. The goal is to encourage the use of colored pencils with other materials and attract the attention of artists who are not primarily colored pencil artists. Starting in 2009, Explore This! is the only venue where CPSA members can earn CPX signature status which requires three acceptances within a 10 year period. The exhibition features a $1,500 Best of Show award and EXPY award along with other cash awards. The winners of the top three awards will be invited to send their pieces for display in the CPSA International Exhibition in 2013. In addition, a full-color issue of the CPSA news magazine, "To The Point," will showcase the accepted artwork.

Competition entry requires proof of relevant experience through photographed work, and the submission of scaled concept drawings for consideration. We are excited to begin the 2013 Coachella season and as always, your epic artistic visions will be a huge part of the show. We are looking for installation ideas that have one or any combination of the following elements: immersive environments, large scale sculpture, fire, water/misting, interactive, large scale architectural shade structure, projection mapping and video projects, performance art, etc....all with killer night time lighting. The deadline for submissions will be midnight mountain time on December 10, 2012. We will make our final selections for the show by mid-January. Coachella takes place on close to 100 acres of unobstructed perfectly flat grass so there are no real limits...we have had installations and shade structures as large as an acre and sculptures as tall as 125 ft. We are not looking for 2D art (paintings or photographs) or other work on a human scale that can easily get lost in a crowd. Evergreen Colorado’s ‘Art for the Mountain Community’ invites artists to submit sculptures to our annual rotating sculpture show. The Future of Design Jewelry Education Fund, a charitable fund administered by Cindy Edelstein, announces it’s first scholarship competition to the Revere Academy of Jewelry Arts in San Francisco. This year’s grant is in honor of Colorado designer Alice Abrams and will be awarded to a designer wishing to attend the Academy. The scholarship competition is open to anyone looking for the Revere Academy educational experience. Jurors will look for an individual whose work displays original, innovative, high quality jewelry design. The winner will be awarded $2500 in tuition credit, which can be applied toward any classes at the school for one year, including the Academy’s famed Master’s Symposium that takes place each Spring. Applicants must submit three print-ready images (up to 9MB in size each) of their work and answer two short essay questions. NOTE: This scholarship is in lieu of the Mort Abelson Masters Symposium Scholarship 2013.

The 2013 Public Art Exhibition on Hilton Head Island, DISCOVER, seeks proposals for sculpture engaged in a contemporary conversation about art within a natural environment. The theme is intended to inspire submissions that foster discovery, exploration, interaction, recreation, education and an element of surprise within the beauty of the Lowcountry region. The year 2013 will mark the 350th anniversary of William Hilton discovering what became known as Hilton Head Island. Up to twenty large-scale outdoor sculptures will be selected by an esteemed jury based upon artistic excellence, innovation, interactivity, originality, and the work’s ability to enhance the natural and cultural environment as well as reflect the values and diversity of Hilton Head Island. All artists chosen to participate will be awarded a $2,000 participation stipend. One of the sculptures will be purchased for an amount of $25,000 to $75,000 then donated to the Town of Hilton Head Island's growing publ! ic art collection. Three additional sculptures will be selected as "People's Choice." These artists will be awarded cash prizes with the possibility for an extended temporary leasing agreement. The Public Art Exhibition on Hilton Head Island will take place from mid-September, 2013 through Mid-January, 2014 at Coastal Discovery Museum's historic Honey Horn Plantation. The Arts & Science Council is accepting qualifications from artists or artist teams residing in the United States for a public art opportunity along North Tryon Street which will reinforce new environmental initiatives set out for the corridor. During a residency at McColl Center for Visual Art, the selected artist will begin working with project team staff and area residents to develop a concept for permanent artwork to be integrated into the new North Tryon Business Corridor streetscape improvement project. The artist will design and implement temporary public art/engagement projects during their residency to complement their permanent public art concept. Up to three finalists will be selected to develop concept proposals for this project. Each will be paid a $1,500 proposal fee. Partial funding for this project is made possible by a National Endowment for the Arts Our Town grant.

The Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts, Inc. (BOPA) is proud to announce the eighth edition of the Janet & Walter Sondheim Prize. The prize will award a $25,000 fellowship to a visual artist or visual artist collaborators living and working in the Baltimore region. The prize is in conjunction with the annual Artscape juried exhibition and is produced with our partners, The Walters Art Museum (WAM) and the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA). Approximately six finalists will be selected for the final review for the prize. Their work will be exhibited in the Special Exhibition Gallery at The Walters Art Museum – an exciting new partner who generously offered to host the finalist exhibition when renovations to the Thalheimer Gallery at the Baltimore Museum of Art (BMA) prevented the BMA from hosting the 2013 exhibition. Additionally, an exhibition of the semi-finalists’ work will be shown in the Decker and Meyerhoff galleries of the Maryland Institute College of ! Art during the Artscape weekend (July 19-21, 2013).
