FA LA LA – book review by S.A. Barone

Children’s Book Review by S.A. Barone

Author Leslie Patricelli is the writer and illustrator of FA LA LA.  This is a wonderfully funny, happy and exciting board book for the little toddlers.

As usual this board book is perfectly pitched to toddler’s sensibilities.  The text is straightforward telling part of the story and her wonderful illustrations tell the rest of the story.

Patricelli’s illustrations are awesome.  She uses acrylics, painting simple shapes and uses bold black outlines against vibrant backgrounds.

Her baby character with the single corkscrew curl returns in another exciting and funny board book.  This time it’s about Christmas.

The baby with the curl helps to pick out a Christmas tree and helps to make Mommy a Scotch Tape necklace.  The baby joins in on caroling and eagerly awaits Santa’s arrival, while pretending to be a Christmas tree!

This book has lots of humor, personality and can be appreciated by both squirmy kids and parents.

I love this board book!  It’s truly fun and funny!

 Happy Reading!
