Board Member Spotlight, Beth Bauer

Beth Bauer - Board Member

Main Street Gallery Board of Directors member, Beth Bauer, is a valuable colleague in our group. She is one of the ten women who own and operate the Main Street Gallery in Weaverville’s historic district. Beth, the board-elected secretary now in her second term, performs this function diligently and promptly. She is chair of the Docent Committee and is responsible for recruiting and training docents; the Gallery currently has 23 docents. She maintains the docent procedures, calendar, schedules; and emails follow-up reminders daily. She is a member of fundraising, gallery display, and both the Moon Lee Gallery and Trinity Gallery committees.

Beth holds a bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Manchester College, Indiana, a bachelor’s degree in Wildlife Biology from Humboldt State University, and a master’s degree in English-as-a-Second Language (ESL) from the University of Arizona.

Beth taught ESL abroad for seven years before moving back to the United States, to Washington State, where she worked as a wildlife biologist. In 2003, she moved with her husband, Mark, their and two children to Trinity County where she began her art career while home-schooling her children. She says, “I am a life-learner along with my kids. I need to grow alongside my children. We explore art together.”

Beth has exhibited her watercolors in the local galleries. She volunteers in community projects, the Weaverville Library, and is a member of the Early Music Singers.
