Stylized art uses a visual language of form, color and line to create a composition, which may exist with a degree of independence from visual references in the world. It is art in which the object is recognizable but not realistically portrayed in terms of color, depth, or shape.

Abstraction indicates a departure from reality in the depiction of imagery in art in which the object is truly non-recognizable and reduced to only form, color, and shape.

The Main Street Gallery is pleased to present many of our local artists including Susan Alexander, Beth Bauer, Jane Belden, Kristi Bevard, Gay Butler, Kathleen Evans, Karen Hammer, Sandy Obester, Betty Pestoni, Louise Tuthill, Evelyn Mercer Ward, and Joy Wiltsee.

January begins with our first of three “Members of the Gallery” art exhibitions in the Trinity Gallery. It will open January 4 and run through April 2, 2014. Remember, the Main Street Gallery has a wonderful selection of greeting cards for all occasions as well as prints of artists’ original paintings, which are affordable and as beautiful as the originals.
